There are 9 types of cards: Action Card, Award Card, Employee Card, Event Card, Industry Card, Money Card, Product Card, Sum Card, and Time Card.

Lay out in the same pile

Lay out all Award Cards in the same pile, faceup.

Lay out all Time Cards in the same pile, faceup.

Lay out in separate piles

Lay out Employee Cards by role in separate piles, faceup.

Lay out Product Cards by type in separate piles, faceup.

Lay out Money Cards by value in separate piles, faceup.

Prepare Industry and Sum Cards

Lay out Industry Cards by sector in separate piles, faceup.

Shuffle all Sum Cards, assign 2 Sum Cards to each industry. Stack them on top of each other with the Industry Card at the top.

Shuffle

Shuffle all Action Cards and place them in the same pile, facedown.

Shuffle all Event Cards and place them in the same pile, facedown.

Distribute

Each player receives one $1 Money Card, one $2 Money Card, and one $5 Money Card.

Each player chooses one Prototype Product Card of any industry. That product is immediately completed and does not require maintainers or Time Cards. It will generate revenue starting in the first round.

Determine First Player

Choose a starting player randomly (or the youngest player goes first). Play proceeds clockwise from the starting player.

Dice

The game uses 2d6 (two six-sided dice).
